Speed Test: Digi Unlimited Data in Sabah

Robert's Google+

Digi has extensive mobile Internet coverage throughout the nation.

Digi unlimited data RM100 speed test
Digi RM100 unlimited postpaid plan. Speed test done in Sabah

The battle of unlimited mobile Internet data is officially started. Thanks to Webe (unifi mobile), paving a new trend that followed by many local Internet mobile companies. Webe's reign on the term "unlimited data" is unrivalled for nearly six months from 2016 to march 2017. In an attempt to stay competitive, Digi continued effort revised its postpaid plans.

Digi unlimited postpaid plans has a significant difference that would be no blockage on mobile tethering to other devices such as laptop and other device with Wi-Fi. Depending on your package, you may open tethering on your mobile phone to a laptop and watch 20GB of contents on your laptop. in an event of usage of 20GB is fulfilled, you may opt for a topup or surf the contents in your mobile phone without tethering to your laptop until the next billing month.

Besides, the new postpaid is constantly  run on 4G with 5mbps internet speed. However, Digi is prominent in dealing with user downloading stuff with the torrent software. Most of Digi users have experienced huge speed throttle while downloading any torrent files.

Digi has solved the issue of Internet coverage in many rural parts of Malaysia. In recent years, there have been lots of projects involving communication towers. In fact, those tower seem to be stabilizing LTE/4G Internet connection.

In the near future, we may observe another promotions battle among local mobile Internet providers in term of mobile internet speed. Since we have unlimited data now, consumer may suggest unlimited data and 20mbps instead of 5mbps.

Hottest Mobile Internet Plans 2017-2018

Robert's Google+

Digi new prepaid and postpaid plans are the hottest topic in its own league.

Digi plan rm100

It takes them a while to use the term "unlimited" data as in the past only home internet get to use it. soem of us are happy and contented with unlimited data surfing Facebook and Instagram after monthly data depleted. But, as compeittion started to heat up, some company just has to pick up the challenge.

They know we like Facebook and Youtube. However, the consumer wants more just surfing Facebook or Instagram. Most notably, they crave more data, coverage and Internet speed. In recent years, they have been rolling out plan with data for watching movies on specific platform such as Youtube or iflix.

In order to have advantage in a competition, there was not many other choice but listen to consumer demands and giving out more to the public as we are talking about small profitable compay. To be speific, unlimited data with enabled hotspot are just a great combination in successfully attract more subscribers before the end of the year 2017.

Digi newest plan RM100 is the lowest price you can get in the market for unbeatable bargain. It is literally designed for those who tried to squeeze every penny for their own. You cant get any lowest than that anymore. The plan can feed your data-hungry mobile and computer as you wish. Turn on your apple or android update or set it automatically update as you like without rely on home or someone else WiFi.

If you still have an issue with it, please just subscribe RM150 and any of your worries are no longer your concern.

It even shocking fact that in the first quarter of 2018, Digi rolls out just another awestruck prepaid plans for you to have unlimited data on weekend without elaborate more on the speed. With these plans alone sent out a shockwave to the mobile community for a change of plan due to Digi new prepaid plan can be as low as RM38.

It will be hard time for other companies's mobile Internet plan to caught up, well, we are already excited what are their new plans to counter besides just racking up so many profit.

Digi Prepaid Reload still charging 6% GST in May 1

Robert's Google+

Reload to stay connected

Digi Reload Prepaid 6% GST RM 31.80

In the wake of the news about discharging 6% GST on prepaid reload cards, quickly rush to Digi website in order to make an online purchase of RM30 prepaid reload. Ironically, nthe counter is still charging the 6% GST.

Without any thoughts cancelled the transaction immediately knowing that maybe Digi website is not updated swiftly. Trying to get the prepaid reload at Maybank2u website. However, Maybank2u declined offering its service to process Digi subscribers's need to buy prepaid reload.

One can buy Digi mobile prepaid card via Maybank2u and many other mobile Internet brands such as Tunetalk or Celcom. The ultimate question is will authorities abolishing 6% GST in prepaid reload ? Hate to take the RM0.20 extra change when you pay RM32.00.

Any Digi prepaid users should have RM30 in the account for 1.5GB Mobile Internet subscription.
Reload is pretty much necessary imagine that failed to pay up the monthly fee of RM30 for Digi mobile Internet prepaid users, There will be no usage of mobile Internet. When one accidentally clicked "mobile data" in order to surf Youtube or E-mail, users are getting charge as per data used. The rate is so high could go up to RM8 for a day.

Update 1/1/2018 - 6% GST for mobile prepaid cards has been fully abolished

Digi Broadband Postpaid Sim Card without modem

Robert's Google+

It way better without a modem

Digi Broadband postpaid Sim Card
Digi Broadband Postpaid

The reason behind subscribing without a modem because your smartphone can be a modem. Besides, you are not need to pay the expense of modem.

A front desk of any telecommunication center in Malaysia are not telling you the whole picture. When you are subscribing a postpaid with a modem, you are agree to pay the cost of the modem too when you are no longer using it.

The truth is it is not that bad using smartphone as a modem. With a modem, one is required to pay RM150 with GST something in the total RM156. Without a modem, one must be amazed to bring home Digi postpaid Sim card with just more or less settle the bill of RM50.

What Happen Digi Prepaid Users Exceeded Quota

Robert's Google+

Digi Prepaid Users no longer able to surf websites.

Digi warning exceeded quota

Although Digi raised it quota limit to 1.5G for RM30, all the Digi prepaid internet users are not longer able to surf any websites upon quota finished. A pop-up website will be immediately showed up on your smartphone screen whenever users tried accessing any websites.

Despite that, Digi users are still retain the righ to surf social media messaging such as Whatsapps, Wechat or Facebook with limited internet speed. User should expect slower speed downloading pictures on these allowed platform.

Digi Top up after exceed quota

Top up is made easily accessible. Looking on the options of top up, it not likely a very price-friendly toward users unless in an event of desperate situation.

Would you spend RM50 for 10 days 4GB ? At least, there is a way top up and the hassle is greatly reduced due to the new implementation of automatic pop-up feature for all Digi prepaid users top up their account.

6% GST Prepaid Users Gets Free Calls and SMS

Robert's Google+

RM1.80 in exchange for 15 minutes Free Calls and 15 units SMS

RM30 + 6% GST = RM31.80

Usually 3 pieces of RM10 will do the trick for RM30 coupon reload. It is a not a familiar experience when one paying RM30 + RM1.80. most of the telecommunication shops selling coupon reloads are all not cooperative when one simply enter asking coupon reloads

Alternatively, anyone could actually log in their bank account online and buy prepaid or postpaid reload. However, not all the users are able to do it hassle-free.

Digi 15 minutes and 15 units SMS

The changes has caused some trouble in the meantime magnified by local news agencies. Prompted some high ranking authorities making a statement that the charges of 6% GST will be reimbursed in some form.

Looking at the above picture, realizing that the compensation is not that really satisfying. At least, it better than nothing.

I wonder is there any GST imposed when ordering prepaid reload through online banking method ?

Let the battle begins the price is one of the determinant factor in consumer decision-making. HTC One M8 with contracts offered by Digi, Maxis and Umobile.

HTC One M8 is the new flagship smartphone for HTC. It has very good specification to compete with ever changing smartphone market globally. The announcement of HTC One M8 amazed HTC fans.

HTC One M8 is set to compete with newly released Samsung galaxy S5 that had been announced previously on April 2014. That is just an opinion. To actually compare both smartphones it is mostly self-explanatory. You will have to come out and guess for yourself which one is good and which one is good to buy

Mobile service provider in Malaysia such as Maxis, Digi and Umobile have taken initiative to provide Malaysian the platform to purchase HTC One M8 with contract. The chart below is taken by 3 mobile service operator website. Take a closer look !!

Prior to that, are you finding contract free HTC One M8? Some buyers are seeking HTC One M8 without contract due to many reasons. Last time I checked it is not over RM2200. Please visit at HTC One M8 16GB

Simple research have concluded that Digi and Maxis charts showed that it did not have a big changes in both Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8. If you have been watching Samsung Galaxy S5 contract chart previously on April 2014, you would have noticed that they took it down and replaced it with HTC One M8

The only thing has changed will be Celcom no longer offering HTC One M8. Umobile is taken the lead to offering HTC One M8 with contract. I guess there are limited space in offering new smartphones to Malaysian and that would be just 3 Malaysian mobile service providers. If Celcom to take the offering of HTC One M8, there would be no Umobile involvement !

You could see that in the chart, U PLUS would be offering lowest phone price RM999 with 24 months contract. How about total cost of owning them in the period of 1 and 2 years?
